About Me
Dillon Wallwork
Having studied fashion at Salisbury College of Art, Dillon moved to London and began his training first at Mitzi Lorenz. He then trained at Philip Somerville Ltd, one of London’s finest model millinery houses, which specialised in making and supplying model millinery to many leading department stores around the world and also offered a bespoke service for private clients.
Dillon started work as a junior milliner in the model workroom and soon progressed to become one of the designers and subsequently Design Director and personal assistant to Mr Somerville.
During his employment at Philip Somerville Ltd, Dillon designed hats for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the late Diana Princess of Wales as well as a variety of celebrity clients. He has collaborated with many fashion designers, among them Hardy Amies, Bruce Oldfield, Catherine Walker, Stewart Parvin, and Tomasz Starzewski.
This training was invaluable to Dillon. Working in the model workroom, he learned traditional millinery skills and techniques about proportion, balance and wearability within design together with an understanding of the wholesale hat industry.
Following the closure of Philip Somerville Ltd in 2008 and with more than 25 years of experience behind him, Dillon seized the opportunity to launch his own millinery brand based in London where he carries on the same ethos and legacy of Philip Somerville Ltd. to provide clients with a diverse collection of hats and headpieces.
